CURRENT PROJECTS

Some of my current clients include a local producer of high quality toffees, a design and events company and several other local businesses in varied industries. Near and dear to my heart is the work I do for my husband Igor's electrical company, and in my spare time I also coordinate several volunteer projects:

Tesla Electric Company:  This is our full service electrical and remodeling company.  I handle all aspects of bookkeeping, payroll, marketing and taxes. I keep the website updated, coordinate publicity and Facebook activities, and plan participation in community events, too.

Blissful Chocolatiers:
This Tualatin based business produces amazing, delicious, homemade toffees using an old family recipe and only the highest quality ingredients.  Look for them in some of our local stores, the company is expanding fast.  I am helping the owner with product labeling, portions of their initial marketing and other misc. office setup.

Karen's Intention:  Karen Christensen offers hypnosis and Reiki treatments to help solve a variety of life issues.  Karen's business website is beautiful and full of stunning photographs and helpful information on the treatments and classes she offers; I stepped in to help with correcting code and updating the site as needed.  We have also worked on other marketing for her business, both on-line and in print.

Just-Us Inn: Be sure to see this newly revamped website, one of our latest projects. In summer 2010 I began working with the owners, Debbie and Ron Doherty, of the Just-Us Inn in Wasco, Oregon, to re-organize their office and update the inn's website and other marketing tools. The Just-us Inn in Wasco, Oregon is a historical hotel, 100+ years old, that has been renovated and now rents by the night or for long term guests. The owners of the inn also run two other small businesses in Portland and while Debbie does most of the bookkeeping on her own, I visit with them on occasion to see that everything is running smoothly.

Garden Committee at our local Beaverton elementary school- In 2009 I became coordinator of the committee, and during the summer of 2009 our vegetable garden produced over 260 lbs. of fresh produce, some of which was harvested by students and families, the rest went to the Oregon Food Bank and a local food pantry.  Our garden committee works with students, parents and community partners such as Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts to grow the vegetable garden as well as a nature garden and several native plant areas around the school.  The work of our committee also ties in with the school's Green Team, focusing on sustainability projects in and around the school.  Last spring we replaced several fallen trees with natives madrones, these will provide future habitat and shade near the school.  This coming spring we have plans to replace four old raised beds using a combination of business sponsorships, PTC funds and volunteer hours.

PAST PROJECTS

Ace Event Services, Inc.- From 2000-2007 I worked as the bookkeeper, scheduler, payroll administrator and all around financial person to Ace Event Services, Inc., a successful security and event staff company based in Portland, OR.  At Ace I set up and ran all the accounting systems, and also worked as a scheduler for our 20-150 employees.  I was also involved in hiring and employee management, where we always paid a step up from the rest, trained and treated our employees well and always gave the client the best staff possible.  I left the company when it was sold to a former employee, who still runs the business.  Ace Event Services was and continues to be the main security provider at the Oregon Convention Center and many other sites in and around Portland.
